  • Profile

I am a PhD fellow of the Netherlands Institute for Cultural Analysis(NICA) based at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis(ASCA). My research focuses on computational epistemologies and their artefacts, and looks at how they have affected notions of sense and sense making, both scientifically and culturally, since the late 20th century. I have a marked interest in studying the advent of computer programming languages and problematising how these notions of “language” relate to the fields of contemporary logic and (meta)mathematics as well as some works of modern literature. In addition to this work, I have interests in the fields of media arts, media archeology, new media history, software/hardware studies, and maintenance/infrastructure studies.

My academic background is in Mathematics (BSc. UQÀM) and Media Arts and Sciences (MSc. MIT), and I have worked as a researcher in various institutions, notably the MIT Media Lab, Concordia’s Hexagram Institute for Research-Creation in Media Arts and Technologies, and the Banff New Media Institute.

In addition to my academic work, I also produce artworks that have been commissioned and exhibited in various places in Europe.
