The ASCA Cities Project is a collaborative research initiative based at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam. The project brings together a diverse group of scholars, research students, and practitioners who are interested in the comparative, interdisciplinary analysis of cities. Focusing in particular on the cultural dimensions of cities, the project has three central objectives. It aims to be a focal point and catalyst for new research in the field of urban studies. It aims to develop new theoretical frameworks and research methodologies for urban analysis. And it aims to deepen our understanding of cities by working across historical, geographic, and cultural boundaries.
