I am Associate Professor at the Dept. of Theatre Studies of the University of Amsterdam and a research affiliate with the Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis.
My research interests revolve around the intersections of culture, performance and politics. I have published studies on a wide range of topics including nonviolent protest, participatory art, artistic activism, feminist and postcolonial/decolonial theories and translation.
I am an active member of the collectives UvA Staff for Palestine and International Solidarity for Academic Freedom in India (InSAF India).
I also study Indian percussion (Tabla) with Niti Ranjan Biswas.
